FA Level-1 Football Coach Training
A 1 week course to train local candidates to FA Level – 1 / NVQ Level-1 qualification. This includes First Aid and Child Protectioning courses.
Course Aims
To provide candidates with an introduction to offering the principles/practice of safe, ethical and effective management and coaching of football to adults and young people, as an assistant normally under the supervision of a Level 2 qualified coach.
The certificate offers an opportunity for aspiring football coaches to be supported in developing their knowledge of how to effectively coach a local club or school team
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the L1CCF, candidates will be able to:
– demonstrate an ability to safely organise and supervise football activities, including group coaching and using pre-planned football coaching activity sessions;
– promote and establish working relationships and high standards of behaviour with players, coaches, parents and officials in the overall development of football;
– demonstrate an understanding of:
– generic coaching skill
– football specific coaching skills
– coach and performer/player development
– good practice in club management and coaching
– health and safety
– working with parents
– attitudes and ethics
– the basic Laws of Association Football
– demonstrate an ability to identify and adapt football activities and sessions for a variety of different age groups;
– demonstrate an awareness of further personal development opportunities in football, including coaching, sports therapy, administration and officiating.
