FA Charter
The FA Charter Standard Programme was awarded to CYDC in 2007. Football clubs may only be awarded the Charter if they meet the following criteria determined by the Football Association:
Growth and Retention.
- CYDC has a number of links with local schools, including Allerton Grange and Brackenedge.
Raising standards.
- First Aid equipment is readily available on match days and during training sessions.
- CYDC abides by the Respect Codes of Conduct.
- All involved in CYDC activities, including parents/carers, players, coaches, managers, staff and spectators, are regularly briefed on the state of on-field/off-field behaviour.
Better Players
- A number of our coaches have attended The FA Age Appropriate Introductory Module.
- We operate sessions with no more than a 1:16 coaching ratio and two adults present at all sessions/games.
Running the Game
- CYDC has a development plan based on the National Game Strategy template.
"Clubs are the heartbeat of football in this country. That is why The FA Charter Standard club programme, which raises standards and recognises and rewards quality, is so important...The FA Charter Standard Programme provides recognition that clubs are well run and sustainable, with child protection and safety paramount. It also recognises a club's commitment to coaching, player and coach development, and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game - all of which are big priorities for both me and The FA...The programme provides a benefit for everyone in the game, The FA, County FAs, coaches, volunteers, parents, but most importantly the players."
Sir Trevor Brooking
FA Director of Football Development
CYDC's aim is to achieve the FA Development Standard by 2012 and Community Charter Standard by 2013.
